Olive Parker Black had an impressive
careeer. She trained with William Merritt Chase and Hugh
Bolton Jones. She exhibited at the National Academy of Design from
1897 to 1930 . She also exhibited with the Boston Art Club, the Art
Club of Philadelphia and the Carnegie Institute. She was considered
one of her generation's best landscape painters.
We are selling this large landscape painting "as is." It has
numerous small areas of paint loss in the sky and the trees.
A detail photo shows the worst of it. Overall, it is a splendid
example of Olive Parker Black's landscape painting. Delicate,
impressionistic, with the Barbizon influence that she learned from Hugh
Bolton Jones.
